Ten men Swallows FC held Cape Town City in an exciting DStv Premiership encounter played at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Swallows took the lead just 13 minutes into the game courtesy of a Kgaogelo Sekgota strike on the edge of the box that beat goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh at his near post.
The hosts levelled terms 20 minutes later after Njabulo Ngcobo brought down Thabo Nodada inside the box.
Mduduzi Mdantsane coolly slotted the penalty, sending shot-stopper Thela Ngobeni the wrong way. Nodada had a chance to increase their lead a minute later, but he sent his shot wide from close range.
Second half substitute Musa Nyatama had a chance to restore the lead for Swallows shortly after being introduced, but his shot just missed the target by inches.
The Soweto side were reduced to 10 men with 24 minutes to go after Junaid Sait was red-carded for a dangerous tackle. Nyatama was yellow carded while a technical team member was also sent off for remonstrations.
However, the Citizens could not take advantage, allowing Swallows to pick up their fifth successive draw.
