Sukazi backs his boys to retain Nedbank Cup

TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi says they are going into tonight’s game against Chippa United looking for nothing less but to defend their Nedbank Cup.

Last season The Rockets produced the biggest shock in the history of the Cup when they lifted the trophy after beating South African football giants Kaizer Chiefs in the Final (see video below).

Prior to that they had beaten Steve Komphela’s Lamontville Golden Arrows.

“70 percent of the squad is the one that won the Cup,” says Sukazi.

“We are in a great mood leading to our first title defence match tonight (against Chippa United at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium).

“It couldn’t come up against any better opponent than Chippa United because they are a good team. It’s better even in that the match will be played in their own backyard in Port Elizabeth.

“It will be one of those historical occasions to us in that TS Galaxy FC will be playing its first ever match in the Eastern Cape. We are the defending champions and we are looking at nothing less than to defend our title. As matters stand it is only TS Galaxy FC that has the Nedbank Cup and no one else. Therefore we would like to keep it that way.

“We are taking it match by match which is the same approach we used last season. It’s an approach that worked for us and we are not going to change it now,” added Sukazi.
