Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has expressed concern over the pitch where they will face Al Ahly on Saturday (18:00 SA time).
The Red Devils host the Brazilians at El-Salam Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.
“Our challenge is on the pitch, because not long ago we had the (Africa) Cup of Nations in that stadium, so I don’t know what’s happening,” Mosimane noted.
“Probably the stadium is overused – there are a lot of teams here, but I expected that the pitch could have been in better shape.
“But so be it, we trained and managed to get our session right, and there were no issues.
Sundowns arrived in North Africa on Tuesday and Mosimane had a session with the players to analyse the opponents.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Denis Onyango is expected to be fit for the clash despite struggling with a hamstring injury.
