Józef Vukusic’s future at AmaZulu FC seems to be hanging by a thread.
The Serbian is still suspended by the Absa Premiership club following poor performances under his guidance, and according to a source within Usuthu it does not look like he will be retained as a head coach after caretaker coaches Ayanda Dlamini and Moeneeb Josephs’s impressive 1-0 win against log leaders Kaizer Chiefs recently.
“Vukusic? No,he hasn’t been around since Ayanda took over basically before the Chiefs game,” a source told FARPost.
“Well, I don’t think he will come back, especially after the result against Chiefs, you know. They are still talking to him. I haven’t heard anything about a new coach, so I think they will stick with Moeneeb and Ayanda till the end of the season, that’s what I think, especially after the Chiefs game, and I think that’s probably a good thing.”
The source also confirmed that the likes of Jabulani Ncobeni, Michael Morton, Thembela Sikhakhane and Nhlanhla Vilakazi were now back training with the senior team.
“Yeah, they came back at the start of last week, except (Lehlohonolo) Majoro, I’m not really sure what’s going on with him.”
Contacted for comment on the future of Majoro and Vukusic, AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela had this to say.
“Majoro has been told to train at home as with the rest of squad (due to Coronavirus). Vukusic, the internal process is on-going.”
