FARPost caught up with Varbergs Bois new midfield signing Luke Le Roux out in Sweden who sat down with us to share how delighted he was at moving overseas early after completing a move from SuperSport United.
“Getting the opportunity to play overseas at such a young age has always been my dream, it really means a lot to me and I’ll forever be grateful for this wonderful opportunity,” said Le Roux.
He continued to speak about his surroundings in Sweden “The environment has been great man, it’s just the Covid-19 that stopped us from doing what we love the most, but then again our safety is more important.”
Having already made his debut for Varbergs Bois just weeks after signing with the club the South African youth international expressed how exciting the moment was.
“It was an amazing experience I came on in the second half against Hammarby which is one of the biggest teams in Sweden as you can imagine you play in a packed stadium and it was just a moment I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.”
Asked about the ambitions of the club as well as his short-term goals the 20-year-old central midfielder responded: ” It’s our first season in the Allsvenskan which is the highest league in Sweden so we are just focusing on staying up, giving our best and working hard to achieve this goal.”
Le Roux is a product of the SuperSport Academy and left Mzansi having already made his senior debut for Matsatsantsa and also had a loan spell at Stellenbosch FC so in Sweden he will be hoping to continue where he left off as he starts his first campaign abroad .
