The reason Banyana stalwart Mpumi Nyandeni parted ways with JVW 

Banyana Banyana stalwart Nompumelelo Mpumi Nyandeni has parted ways with JVW FC with the aim to represent her province for the last time. 

In recent weeks, Nyandeni has been heavily linked with a move to the Hollywoodbets Super League newcomers, TS Galaxy Queens. 

And Galaxy Queens are the only Mpumalanga-based side in the national women’s league, where Nyandeni was born. 

Nyandeni leaves the JVW after a successful spell of eight years, six years of which she was the captain of the team. 

The 35-year-old attacker walked away with Super League Top Goalscorer award last season, having found the back of the net on of 30 occasions. 

In the first edition of the Super League, she was also the joint Top scorer with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies striker Andisiwe Mgcoyi.

The highly-rated goalscorer had stint with WFC Rossiyanka in Russia before returning to South Africa to join JVW. 

To put a cherry on top, Nyandeni has 149 caps Banyana. 

She represented the women’s national team at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.

Nyandeni has since bid an emotional farewell to the Blue Diamonds expressing her gratitude to all of those who have helped her throughout her stay at the club.

MPUMI NYANDENI BIDS FAREWELL TO JVW 

“It’s sad that I have to say goodbye to the JVW family, friends and supporters of the club,” said Nyandeni. 

“After spending 8 years at JVW and leading the team for 6 years it was a hard decision to make, but I had to make it.”

WHY MPUMI DECIDED TO PART WAYS WITH JVW 

“I made this decision because I want to represent my province for the last time,” she revealed. 

“I feel this is the right time to do so, thank you to Lauren and Jay for everything and trusting me to lead the team. 

“Thank you to the coaches and players for everything, you’ll be always in my heart I’ll be supporting you on the other side. all the best in the upcoming season.”
