TTM to buy their way back to PSL?

Relegated Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM], is reportedly looking to buy their way back to the PSL.

TTM failed to avoid the axe as they were demoted to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League along with bitter rivals Black Leopards at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The club finished second from the bottom in the second-tier league. They only managed to collect 23 points from 30 matches. In addition, Vhadau Vha Damani have also withdrawn their complaint against VFA over the ineligibility of Athini Jodwana.

END OF THE ROAD AS TTM REACT TO RELEGATION

In an interview with FARPost on Friday, team manager Azwihangwisi Phasha says they have accepted their fate.

“Obviously, it’s a painful thing, but as a club, we have accepted,” he said. “We are moving on. The pain is still there, but we move on as a club, and we keep our gears up.”

The club will now play in the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League, despite moving to Mangaung in January.

There have been rumours that the club intends to purchase status in the same league. But Phasha did not want to be drawn into the rumour.

“The board is in discussions, but I have not been informed about such. Yes, we are relegated, and we have accepted that,” he added.

The TTM support base, especially in the Vhembe region, has seen growth over the past years. The club also sent a special plea to their loyal fans.

“Obviously, we will communicate in the near future about the way forward. They must never feel discouraged, it has happened to us, and tomorrow it can be someone else,” he said.

“We are really thankful for their support throughout the seasons we have been in this league. They have been supporting us through thick and thin, and we appreciated their support.”

The club managed only four wins the entire season. One of their biggest downfalls was the 16-match winless streak. Their only win during the second round of the season came against Limpopo rivals Magesi.
