Latest on AmaZulu FC’s Kenyan trialist Vincent Oburu

AmaZulu FC’s Kenyan trialist Vincent Oburu recently spent time at the Durban outfit, and the club has made a decision.

While many fans had been anticipating a direct signing, the DStv Premiership outfit AmaZulu took a cautious approach to evaluate his abilities and compatibility with the team.

Usuthu recently addressed transfer speculation around the Zesco United star. The club made it clear they were taking time to assess him before deciding. A Zambian source has since revealed that the player did not make the grade at the club.

“He didn’t make the cut at AmaZulu. He left after a few days. It looks like the coaches were not impressed,” the source told FARPost.

WHERE IS AMAZULU’S KENYAN TRIALIST VINCENT OBURU

The 25-year-old forward, currently playing for Zambian Super League side Zesco United, is reportedly back in Zambia, although he is still seeking a move away from the club.

At the time of his assessment, AmaZulu struggled in front of goal as they had only netted once in five DStv Premiership games. After collecting six points from five games, they sat in 14th place on the league standings.

They have since turned the corner, moving up to seventh place after two wins and three draws.

Ivorian forward Sede Junior Dion bounced back with a bang, helping them to a dramatic comeback against Cape Town City. His 90th and 97th-minute strikes handed them a 3-2 win over the Citizens.

Dion’s return relieves them of the pressure for goals upfront. They play Polokwane City in their next fixture on Monday next week.

Meanwhile, Usuthu still awaits the arrival of their Nigerien forward, Victorien Adebayor. The 26-year-old winger, who played for Botola Pro side RS Berkane in Morocco, recently received his Visa.

However, the airspace in Niger remains closed, and the KZN club is trying to find him a flight to come and start his PSL journey.
