When Bernard Parker is likely to return from injury

TS Galaxy star Bernard Parker has given an update on when he’s likely to return back from injury.

Parker was unfortunate as he suffered a career threatening injury against Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-final of the Carling Knockout Cup in October. This was after a dangerous challenge from Bongani Zungu.

His injury setback has been a big blow to the club considering that Parker is a senior and an experienced player.

This campaign before getting injured, the former Bafana Bafana striker had made nine appearances in all competitions. The missing part was towards his goal contribution. He was yet to find the back of the net and provide an assist.

BERNARD PARKER WILL BE BACK IN ACTION AROUND FEBRUARY TO MARCH

Parker anticipates his return from injury early next year.

“Realistically, according to the doctors’ view it’s up to myself how quick I can get back,” said Parker.

“But they predict I will be back February, but latest March. It will depend on me, obviously I’m taking my recovery very well.

“I hope to be better around that time or sooner. I don’t know, but I want to take my time so I can get back stronger and better as a player. To help the team finish off in a respective position.”

BERNARD PARKER ON AFCON BREAK

Parker further believes the 2024 AFCON finals to be hosted in Ivory Coast in January are at a right time. This will give him time to recover as the league will be on hold, also the team will recover.

“It’s a, blessing in disguise that AFCON is happening in January 2024. It gives me more time in terms of recovery. More time for the team in terms of pressing the reset button and preparing for the second half of the season.

“We’ve been playing very good football, we’ve been energetic in our games. We are so physical and we tend not to get the results,” Parker added.
