Bafana Bafana is set to take on Sao Tome ePrincipe at Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight (21:00).
FARPost looks at some of the key players to watch for the hosts as they look to get maximum points.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward is going to be the most watched man on the pitch upfront for Bafana Bafana with his dynamism and prowess a big threat. Tau has started the season well with his loan club RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League and he has 4 goals to his name in 11 league games so far this season. The 26-year-old also has a decent record in the national team with 9 goals scored in 24 appearances for South Africa.
Recently crowned the Absa Premiership Player of the Season, the Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder is oozing with confidence. Zwane has already scored one goal in the 2020/21 season, but he is yet to hit the right gears in national team colous with only two goals scored in the 20 appearances he has made since making his debut back in 2014. The 31-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the squad and coach Molefi Ntseki will be looking at him to provide leadership upfront.
The Stars of Africa graduate Luther Singh’s star has been on the rise for the past few years. The 23-year-old has often been overlooked for the senior national squad although he was starring for the junior teams.
Singh debuted in 2017 under coach Owen Da Gama and only got his second cap (besides COSAFA Cup) recently against Namibia and he introduced himself with a goal as they drew 1-1 in a friendly. The attacker has been playing regularly for Portuguese top-flight side Paços de Ferreira and he could be coach Ntseki’s wild card against Sao Tome.
