3 Chiefs players to watch v Maritzburg

Maritzburg United have proved to be a tough nut to crack this season.

With 10 clean sheets in 21 League games, the Team of Choice have fared better than last term.

The question is; can they keep a clean sheet against Kaizer Chiefs in this evening’s clash at FNB Stadium (18:00)?

Amakhosi boast an impressive attack and FARPost picks three from those that could break down the visitors’ defence.

George ‘Mido’ Maluleka

With 4 assists in 16 League games, Mido will be the first to admit that he’s capable of providing more, but when he’s in the mood, anything is possible on the day. His play from the middle of the park would be crucial in helping break down Maritzburg’s defence.

Lebogang Manyama

The attacking midfielder has even better numbers in terms of assists and goals, with 5 goals and 7 assists in 18 League games. To get through the Maritzburg defence, Chiefs may have to rely on what has worked throughout the season; set pieces and Manyama would be key in this situation.

Leonardo Castro

He’ll no doubt fight until the end and that means the likes of Rushine De Reuck in Maritzburg’s defence will not have an easy time at all.
