3 Leopards players to watch v Pirates

Black Leopards host Orlando Pirates at Thohoyandou Stadium this afternoon (15:30) and FARPost looks at three players that are capable of helping Lidoda Duvha win in their own backyard.

Mogakolodi Ngele

The 29-year-old took a while to settle at Lidoda Duvha since joining at the beginning of the season and struggled to even make the bench under former coach Luc Eymael. Ngele’s form and attitude has changed for the better with the arrival of Cavin Johnson (who has since left) and has been a regular ever since. The Botswana international will be one of the key players to look out for with his ability to win matches with set-pieces. Ngele has scored 2 goals in all competitions in the 8 matches he has played so far.

Thabo Matlaba

Matlaba is also one of the outstanding players for Leopards this season even when results have not been forthcoming. He has marshalled both the right back and the right wing positions with ease when asked to fill the roles. Given that the 32-year-old is a former captain of Orlando Pirates he surely would always want to go an extra mile and prove a point against a team where he made a name for himself.

Lesedi Kapinga

Kapinga has literally carried Leopards throughout the season and continues to grow in confidence each game. With the intensifying rumours of a move away from the club Kapinga will be looking to impress his ‘future’ boss and will surely be a player the Pirates defenders will need to look out for.
