Banyana & Bafana stars shine in Europe

Banyana Banyana star Linda Motlhalo has enjoyed another victory in Sweden, while Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau continues his great start in Belgium.

LINDA MOTHLALO

The Banyana Banyana midfielder played another 90 minutes for Djurgaden DFF as they defeated Pitea 1-0 in the league on Sunday evening in Sweden.

KEANIN AYER, LUKE LE ROUX & TASHREEQ MATTHEWS

All three South African youngsters were in action for Swedish Allsvenskan side Varbergs BoIS as they beat Sirius 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in the league to make it back to back wins after defeating Orebro earlier in the week .

Le Roux played the whole game while Ayer who had just returned from a back injury lasted 46 minutes and Matthews came on late in the second half.

DARREN SMITH & AYA KONQOBE

The South African duo started and played the entire 90 minutes for Ekenas IF as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over MYPA in the Finnish second division.

KURT ABRAHAMS

The Cape Town-born striker came off the bench after 79 minutes as KV Westerlo drew for the second game running , this time playing to a 0-0 draw with Royale Union Saint Gilloise in the Belgian Proximus league.

PERCY TAU

The Bafana Bafana striker earned his first start of the season for RSC Anderlecht against KV Oostende.

Tau scored his second goal of the season as the Belgian giants came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 away from home – this was Tau’s second goal in three games in the Jupiler Pro League.

TUMI MOSHOBANE

The winger was a 70th minute substitute for San Diego Loyal as they played out to a goalless draw against Orange County SC in the USL championship.

LEBO MOLOTO

Central midfielder Lebo Moloto started and played 69 minutes for FC Tulsa in America’s second division (USL) as his club FC Tulsa lost 2-1 against Swope Park Rangers this weekend in the league.

Moloto is one of the regular players for Tulsa and has been consistent throughout the season.

GEORGE LEBESE

After his impressive performance midweek former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns winger George Lebese earned himself a start and played 83 minutes for Colorado Springs Switchbacks as they drew 1-1 against New Mexico United in the American USL division on Sunday morning.

KEAGAN DOLLY

Ligue 1 side Montpellier kicked off their season with a narrow 2-1 loss against Stade Rennes in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening and Bafana Bafana winger Keagan Dolly came on for a cameo appearance in the 88th minute of the game.

Dolly has been unfortunate with injuries in his time in France and will be hoping to have a good season in France as he enters the last year of his contract with Montpellier.
