AmaZulu head coach Jozef Vukusic says he is not thinking about relegation despite losing 2-0 at home against SuperSport United and dropping down to the danger zone.
First half goals by Evans Rusike and Bradley Grobler was enough to get the job done for Kaitano Tembo’s men and collect maximum points in what was a damaging defeat for AmaZulu as they sit just a point above Black Leopards in 14th position yet Vukusic insisted that he is not concerned about the log table.
“No, I am positive and I believe there’s potential in this team and we can get it, of course I take it like reality mathematics of course I’m not happy about today’s game, I am not happy about Sundowns game but in reality we are in a different situation and we need to take it,” said the former Polokwane City mentor
“It’s not about worrying in soccer you must only work on a daily basis you must work, work, work and the results will come this is my philosophy and it has worked,” continued the Slovakian coach.
Usuthu have shipped in 7 goals in the last 3 games, conceding 2 goals in the first half against Sundowns, Cape Town City and SuperSport something which Vukusic admits has to be fixed.
“Yeah, the last 3 games we have conceded too many goals. We have to analyse that but the defence is the team issue not only individuals but we must go to that. I happy with the games that we played Maritzburg, Black Leopards, Baroka where it was clean sheets of course you wish to have that clean sheet.
“But we must go over that and that is the basic, you come to basics then only you can come to the next stage of the game so yeah I understand and am not happy about that we must fix it quickly and yeah we will do it,” added the 55-year-old tactician.
Usuthu will next travel away to Harry Gwala Stadium to take on Maritzburg United in the KwaZulu Natal derby on Friday.
