ABC Motsepe League weekend wrap

The ABC Motsepe League came to an end in the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga provinces this past weekend with fascinating encounters which produced lots of goals.

In the Eastern Cape, SA Spear of the Nation cruised their way to the provincial playoffs where they will face their arch-rivals Buffalo City Municipal Stars after winning their respective streams.

Spear of the Nation easily took command of stream A – finishing on the summit of the table with 44 points from 16 outings, while BCM Stars won Stream B with 39 points after 16 matches, five points ahead of second-placed Sinenkani FC.

Both sides will lock horns in the provincial playoffs to determine the overall champion and a representative at the national playoffs.

With all being said about the Eastern Cape ABC League, it was the end of the road for Tede United and Port Elizabeth FC, who could not survive the chop on the final day of the league fixtures.

Over to Mpumalanga, Sivutsa NPC and Witbank Shepard will go head-to-head in the provincial playoffs after having a good season run and winning their respective streams too. Shepard are Stream A winners with 43 points as they crushed Mbombela FC 3-1 this past Saturday, whereas Sivutsa finished top of stream B with 41 points after defeating Kriel Football Academy 2-0.
