AC Milan suffer cup final heartbreak


A few South African players were involved with their respective clubs abroad over the weekend.

Refiloe Jane suffered a cup final defeat while Lars Veldwijk continued his red hot form for FC Suwon in Korea.


Djurgaden’s bad start to the season continued this past weekend.

The Swedish side lost 1-0 away at Pitea on Sunday night. This was the club’s sixth consecutive loss in the league and it leaves them lingering in the bottom half of the table.

Motlhalo got another start and played 90 minutes, but couldn’t help the club avoid another heartbreaking defeat.


The Banyana Banyana striker got another start and was substituted in the second half as BK Moron defeated Norrkoping 3-0 in Sweden.


AC Milan lost to Roma in the final of the Italian Women’s Cup.

After a goalless 120 minutes, the tie had to be decided on penalties with Roma walking out with a 3-1 win on penalties.

Jane started and got substituted in the 90th minute as the Rossoneri’s hunt for their first ever silverware continues.


The South African junior international started and played the entire 90 minutes as SC Braga B drew 1-1 against Trofense.

The result meant that Braga B will remain in the Campeonato de Portugal after failing to secure promotion to the Segunda Liga.


Glasgow City thrashed Spartans 6-2 in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.
Fulutudilu played 58 minutes and scored the first goal while Van Wyk lasted 90 minutes at the centre of the defence.

City now need one win in their remaining two games to clinch the title.


The striker scored his eighth goal of the campaign as FC Suwon defeated Seongnam 3-2 in the Korean top-flight this past weekend.

This was Veldwijk’s third goal in three matches for the newly promoted side.
