Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly have reportedly reached an agreement with Tanzania’s Simba SC to sign their star forward Luis Miquissone.
Miquissone has been linked with Al Ahly for several months now, mainly after his performance in the CAF Champions League, where he netted a winner against the African champions Al Ahly in the group stage.
With the Reds looking to strengthen their attacking options this season, it appears that they have identified Miquissone as one of their main targets.
According to El-Ahly, the club have contacted Simba and reached a verbal agreement for the 26-year-old and will now start negotiations with the player and his representatives to discuss his contract.
Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane knows Miquissone quite well as he previously coached him at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Miquissone had joined Sundowns back in January 2018, but was loaned out almost immediately to the likes of Chippa United, Royal Eagles, and UD Songo, before joining Simba permanently in January 2020.
Since moving to Simba, Miquissone has hit the ground running in Tanzania, scoring three goals while assisting three others in this year’s CAF Champions League campaign, where they reached the quarterfinals.
It was previously reported that Simba will only let go of Miquissone if their financial demands are met, as they put a price tag on him worth around €1 Million.
