Play your role from the stands and help Kaizer Chiefs end their trophy drought.
This is the message from Nigerian international keeper Daniel Akpeyi to the multitude of Amakhosi supporters.
Chiefs last won a trophy in 2014 when they took home the MTN8 trophy at the expense of bitter rivals, Orlando Pirates, in a match played in Durban.
Akpeyi told FARPost.co.za that Chiefs are capable of dusting off their trophy cabinet, but it’s important that the 12th man – the supporters, stand behind the club.
“I just want to say to the Chiefs fans to be strong and stay behind this team,” said the former Chippa United goalminder.
“They must keep encouraging us like they’ve always done… we need the support for us to get better.
“We are going to make sure that we (as players) are focused and to deliver on our side,” Akpeyi added.
