Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso has praised the instant impact of the club’s new signings in Kearyn Baccus, Yagan Sasman and Samir Nurkovic while stating that Lazarus Kambole will showcase his capabilities once he has found his feet.
Baccus, Sasman and Nurkovic have quickly made themselves a fundamental part of Ernst Middendorp’s team.
The trio’s arrival coincided with a run of improved form for ‘The Glamour Boys’ in the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season as they find themselves at the summit of the log standings, a couple of wins away from clinching their first league title in five years.
“Bringing in the new signings was great, Samir Nurkovic he’s got off to a great start, I mean he scored [his first goal for Chiefs] in the second game against SuperSport United when we drew 1-1,” said Cardoso.
Since his arrival from Slovakian club FKC Komarno at the beginning of the current campaign, Nurkovic, nicknamed ‘Kokota Piano’ by the Chiefs faithfuls, has netted 12 goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.
Baccus has provided Chiefs coach Middendorp with a viable option at in the middle of the park while former Ajax Cape Town defender Sasman has put in a number of decent performances before the season was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Kearyn Baccus also gelled in very quickly and Yagan Sasman has been great on the left-hand side for us, he sometimes plays centre-back with myself,” added Cardoso.
“And Kambole, he had great games, just need that one goal just to get that confidence and once he gets that first goal, he will start moving up the paces,” concluded Cardoso.
