The DStv Premiership match between AmaZulu and Baroka didn’t disappoint in terms of drama and good football, with the host leading at the interval.
AmaZulu were the better side, with possession of the ball and enterprising attacks that profited them.
The hosts created numerous chances but they only managed to score once as Siphesihle Maduna was fouled in the box, to the benefit of Bongi Ntuli.
The lethal hit man converted from the spot to put the hosts in the lead early in the first half, for his second goal in as many starts.
The second half got to a flying start with Bakgaga trying to equalise, however the robustness of Benni McCarthy’s charges stood firm.
With numerous and desperate changes, Baroka tried to put more men forward but Usuthu remained resolute to the satisfaction of the green tribe.
The victory gives AmaZulu more than just three points, but their revenge as promised by Siphelele Mthembu, prior to the game.
