AmaZulu found a late goal to bury Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership encounter at Danie Craven Stadium on Friday.
Usuthu were left to rue missed chances that could have gave them a lead before the halftime break.
Meanwhile, Stellies came out looking much more spirited in the second half, but did not create any chances.
In the dying minutes of the game, AmaZulu’s newly signed player Thabo Qalinge came off from the bench and went on to find the back of the net (90+2′).
As a result, Stellenbosch are now placed 11th on the league table with 24 points, whereas the KZN-based side moved to second place with 40 points, just three points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
