Wounded AmaZulu will face draw specialists Swallows at Johnson Kings Park Stadium on Wednesday in the penultimate round of matches in the Dstv Premiership at 17:00.
Usuthu have lost their previous two encounters in the league against Baroka at home and Orlando Pirates away.
Industrious midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula believes playing at home against Swallows will give them some advantage as they look to secure second spot in the DStv Premiership.
“It’s gonna be a tough game, but we have an advantage of playing at home, so it’s all up to us to showcase that we really secure the second spot, so that we can go to the CAF Champions League,” said Makhaula.
“I would like to say the focus is really high and the confidence is really high, because we came from the loss against Orlando Pirates, so the guys have been pushing.”
With the team having struggled to score in their last two matches, the former Free State Stars midfielder wants his side to kill the game early.
“We know Swallows that they do draw games, but they do wanna win games also. They are the team that wants to win games.
“One, two, three (chances) if possible, so that we can put the game to bed, because we know that they also equalise in the last minutes of the game,” he continued.
“That’s why I’m saying we need to score more goals, so that we can put the game to bed early, even if it’s first half.
“Let’s score four, five if the game allows or if the opportunities are too many, we need to be clinical in goals,” concluded Makhaula.
