AmaZulu haven’t started the new DStv Premiership season the way everyone would’ve expected them to.
To make matters worse the Durban side has a number of key players who are nursing injuries, giving the technical team sleepless nights.
Usuthu will next host Baroka at Johnson Kings Park Stadium on Saturday, and coach Benni McCarthy will be without five players for the encounter.
“We’ve been very unfortunate with injuries at crucial times. We just lost Kgotso Moleko and we already have (Thembela) Sikhakhane out with an injury,” said McCarthy.
“We also have (Augustine) Mulenga and the whole start of the season, he has not featured, so he is out. (Thabo) Qalinge got a little bit of a temperature, he was not feeling good so he is out with illness.
“(Limbikani) Mzava is out with illness, so we are missing a few good and important players to the team, they can make a huge difference in the side,” he continued.
“We’ve got three points now on the log and we are still there hovering at the bottom of the table, but if you get a win against your next opponent then you jump to six points.”
