AmaZulu & Sithebe negotiate new contract

AmaZulu will have to come up with an improved offer if they are to keep one of their most prized assets.

Attacking midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe, whose contract expires at the end of the 2021/22 season is said to be a wanted man.

According to Isolezwe, Usuthu have already started negotiations for a new contract, which was rejected by the player and his agent.

The player’s manager Sihlangu Sithebe, who is Siyethemba’s uncle, has confirmed that they rejected the initial offer that was tabled by the club.

“We couldn’t agree with what the club was offering and we requested a better offer,” said Sihlangu Sithebe.

“For now the club management has not presented us with a counter offer, but I believe we’ll agree on something at the end,” he continued.

“We are not making any ridiculous demands just because there are other clubs who are interested in him. There are other clubs that are enquiring about him, but there has not been any formal offer from interested clubs.

“We believe that our proposal is reasonable and we are not happy with what they (AmaZulu) offered him.

“Based on the fact that Siyethemba is one of the key players and his age, we believe that the offer must address those issues,” argued Sihlangu Sithebe.

The 28-year-old, who is currently on national duty with South Africa senior men’s team playing in the Cosafa Cup in Gqeberha is still eager to play for Usuthu.
