RB Salzburg star Patson Daka continued with his ascendancy to stardom after he was voted as the Sky Sports Austria Bundesliga player of the month for January/February.
Thrilled by the accolade, Daka posted on Twitter: “If you’re doing something you don’t want to do, do your best to make it a vehicle to get you where you want to go.
“Humbled to receive @SkySportAustria January/February Player and Goal of the month awards. Thank you for your endless love and support. #MakeJesusYourAim #PD20.”
Daka also grabbed the goal of the month award. The Zambian forward scored nine goals in eight games in all competitions played in January and February.
The 22-year-old currently leads the Austrian Bundesliga goal charts with 18 goals to his name. His closest rival in the golden boot race, Sekou Koita, sits on 14 goals.
Should he maintain the current form, the former Power Dynamos forward is pretty poised to win the March player of the month, although there is stiff competition from Nikolai Baden Frederiksen, Ercan Kara, and Benedikt Pichler who have also been riding high for their respective clubs.
His brilliant performances in Austria definitely come as music to Milutin Sredojevic who is hoping to have the player in his squad to play their final round of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria and Zimbabwe.
