Just as we were coming from a horrifying motor vehicle accident involving Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Ndengeza FC last Friday, news coming from North West is that another ABC side Polokwane City Rovers survived a scare on Saturday.
City Rovers were traveling from the club house to the Alabama Stadium in Klerksdorp as they were hosting Stilfontein Real Hearts when their driver lost control of the 22-seater bus and collided with another car.
The players were treated on the scene by Emergency Medical Services and everyone was confirmed to be fine.
The log leaders went on to play the match and won 3-2 to stretch their lead at the top to 4 points.
Rovers Team Manager Tlou Segolela has confirmed that everyone came out unhurt and they were able to travel to the match.
“Yes it happened while we were on our way to a match against Real Hearts. Three hours before the match but fortunately our players were treated on the scene and everyone was fine,” Segolela explained to FARPost.co.za.
“The incident didn’t really affect the team much because we continued with the trip and went on to win the game. It happened 5 kilometres away from Klerksdorp, but we thank God no one was hurt,” said Segolela, who was registered as a player last season before taking over as Manager.
City Rovers are firm favourites to clinch the 2019/20 North West Promotion spot having played 11 matches winning 9 and drawing 2.
