Arrows appoint Ncikazi to replace Komphela


Golden Arrows have appointed Mandla Ncikazi as their new head coach for the upcoming season following the departure of Steve Komphela to Mamelodi Sundowns last week.

Komphela joined the Premiership champions as a ‘senior coach’ to work along with the joint head coaches in Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi.

Ncikazi, who was Komphela’s deputy for two seasons, will work with ‘Abafana Bes’thende’ former striker Mabhudi Khenyeza‚ who was unveiled as the new assistant at the club this week.

“Our journey continues with Mandla Ncikazi taking over and keeping the mission and vision of the club on track. Sthende Nation let’s welcome our new Head coach Mandla Ncikazi‚” said Arrows in a statement on Thursday.

The 51-year-old is a former Maritzburg United and Free State Stars assistant coach with over 10 years of experience in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The 2020/21 season will kick off with the MTN8 quarterfinals this weekend with Arrows set to start their DStv Premiership campaign against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday, 24 October at the Dr Molemela Stadium.
