Arrows v Leopards match called-off

The DStv Premiership match between Golden Arrows and Black Leopards scheduled for Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Tuesday afternoon has been called off.

This is due to the waterlogged and unplayable pitch following heavy rains in KwaZulu Natal.

“After hard and long discussions between myself and match officials, the referee has decided to call the game off,” match commissioner Johnny du Toit told SuperSport TV.

“The rain is not stopping and on top of it we look at the players’ utmost safety, most important. As you can see it is still raining and we checked the weather report, the rain is going to go to 90% within the next half an hour to 40 minutes.

“So as much as we are working hard now, the rain is not letting us continue. So we have decided to call the game off just for the safety of the players,” he said.

The Premier Soccer League is set to advice on the new date for the fixture.
