Arsenal got back to winning ways in fine style after securing three points away from home against Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Gunners traveled to St. James’s Park at the back of a disappointing 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium against Crystal Palace last Thursday and needed a positive result to bring their campaign back on track.
Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey returned to the starting line-up for the first time since he recovering from a thigh injury and played 67 minutes as coach Mikel Arteta hinted prior to the crucial encounter.
Partey was partnered with Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka and the pair had a solid combination pulling the strings in the middle of the park.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored a beautiful brace which eased the pressure on him to score more goals in the league this season. The Gabonese attacker recently came out to the media explaining how frustrating it has been not being able to score as many goals in the 2020/21 campaign.
After a goalless first half, 31-year-old opened the scoring in the 50th minute mark after a beautiful ball from Partey. Bukayo Saka extended the advantage for the Gunners 10 minutes later before Aubameyang secured all three points with 13 minutes left on the clock as Arsenal got a well deserved 3-0 victory.
The London-based side moved up to 10th spot on the Premier League table with 27 points from 19 games.
