Gauteng ABC Motsepe League side Baberwa has announced the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs trio in David Zulu, Reamohetse Lekoatsa and Ntokozo Mbatha to help boost their chances of gaining promotion to the GladAfrica Championship.
Lekoatsa was part of the Chiefs reserve side that won the inaugural Diski Shield and was one of the top scorers with 6 goals. While Zulu, a well-travelled marksman was formerly on the books of Chippa United and Chiefs. L
Zulu who re-joins Baberwa is a former top goal scorer in the second-tier league. Mbatha, who plays as a midfielder is a Chiefs Youth Development Academy graduate.
The Royals also signed hard-hitting defender, Thapelo Tshilo who will bring plenty of experience into the side as an ex-Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City, Jomo Cosmos and Bidvest Wits player.
Baberwa appointed Tshegofatso Mashego as their new head coach with Errol Chuene, who was the caretaker coach going back to his position as the goalkeeper coach.
Sizwe Masina will continue as the assistant coach.
The Gauteng based side didn’t only sign players but parted ways with the following players: Madoda Motha (who joined TS Sporting), Seun Dlamini, Tiyiselani Makhubele and Freedom Dladla.
Baberwa currently occupy second position on the ABC Motsepe log standings and take on Tembisa Sports Center FC at Mehlareng Stadium, Tembisa today.
