Cavin Johnson’s tenure as Black Leopards coach started on a wrong foot following a 2-1 defeat by Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium this afternoon.

Mothobi Mvala opened the scoring for the hosts in the 28th minute before Mokete Mogaila increased the lead 9 minutes later after a blunder by Leopards keeper Jonas Mendes.

The visitors came back into the second stanza a rejuvenated side and were awarded with a consolation goal through a Mwape Musonda penalty in the 89th minute.

Lidoda Duvha remain 13th on the log with 16 points while the Lions of the North jump to fifth with 23 points.

In the other Absa Premiership match, a 68th minute header by Thamsanqa Mkhize gave Olde Riekerink his first win as the Citizens head coach with a 1-0 triumph over Baroka.

Bakgaga remain rotted at the bottom of the log with 14 points from 16 matches while the Citizens have now jumped to 11 position with 16 points from their 16 games.
