It appears that there would be a couple of changes to the Bafana Bafana team that is set to do battle with Sao Tome at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this afternoon (15:00).
Following Friday’s hard fought 2-0 win over the same opponents at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Bafana are well aware winning again against Sao Tome is easier said than done.
In truth, Bafana have a lot to prove after struggling in the first leg in Durban.
Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki says he’s prepared to employ different strategies to ensure another victory that will leave Bafana on the brink of qualifying.
He’s expected to make at least two changes…
BAFANA XI THAT STARTED ON FRIDAY IN DURBAN:
Williams, Morena, Maela, Lebusa, Hlatshwayo (c), Furman, Tau, Mokotjo, Manyama, Zwane, Dolly.
WHAT COULD CHANGE…
Firstly, Maela is set to make way. The left back didn’t train on Sunday due to injury and Lyle Lakay is tipped to come in.
The second change could be midfielder Bongani Zungu also starting this time.
Zungu of Glasgow Rangers was on the bench in the first leg and came on to score. With him expected to start this time, Kamohelo Mokotjo could be sacrificed.
In attack, Kermit Erasmus is raring to go after missing the first leg due to injury.
If Erasmus starts in his hometown, Lebogang Manyama could be the player to make way.
