Bafana maintain top position in Group G


Bafana Bafana beat Ethiopia 1-0 in Group G of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.

The only goal of the match came via an own goal by Getaneh Kebede Gibeto in the 11th minute.

The result means South Africa remain top of the Group with 10 points from four matches, with two matches remaining.

Ghana are second with nine points, following their 1-0 win against Zimbabwe also on Tuesday.

Ethiopia follow in third place with three points while Zimbabwe are bottom of the group with just one point.

Bafana Bafana will take on Zimbabwe on 11 November before finishing off their qualifier campaign away to Ghana on 14 November.
