Banyana star joins Spanish club

Banyana Banyana midfielder Jermaine Seoposenwe has signed for Spanish La Liga side Real Betis on an initial deal that will last until the end of the season with a one-year-option to extend her stay in with the Spanish side .

In recent months we have seen the likes of Thembi Kgatlana of SL Benfica (Portugal), Linda Mothlalo of Djurgadens IF (Sweden) and Refiloe Jane of AC Milan (Italy) all make their way into Europe’s top female leagues and now Seoposenwe have all made moves to Europe’s big leagues in the past month which is good for Banyana Banyana and the women’s game in South Africa.

Seoposenwe was in the Lithuanian league with FC Gintras Universitas before making a move up to La Liga where she will now be playing against the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid who are rated amongst the best female football teams in the world.
