Barker aims for a satisfactory finish

Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker says two wins in their last two games of the year is what they aim for as they target to cement their top eight spot.

‘Stellies’ will take on neighbours Cape Town City in the Cape derby on Tuesday night, before they travel to Maritzburg United on Saturday for their final fixture of the year.

Currently sitting at position eight after six matches, Barker insists that the next two matches are vital for the club.

“It’s highly important, I think it just turns what would be a satisfactory start,” says Barker.

“If we can get maximum points for the next two matches it would then make a satisfactory start into a very good season. So if we don’t it wouldn’t be eight games and the points that you have targeted so the next two games are vitally important for us,” he added.

The encounter will start at 19:30 at Danie Craven Stadium.
