It seems as if suspended Baroka head coach Dylan Kerr will have to wait a bit longer to know his fate on whether he will remain with the club or not.
Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has told FARPost that the club intends to take as much time as possible before a setting a date for a Disciplinary Committee (DC) hearing.
Kerr has been on suspension since October 5 after being charged with insubordination and bringing the club into disrepute.
The charges comes after an alleged heated argument between Kerr and the Bakgaga chairman Mphahlele.
But Mphahlele has rubbished suggestions that Baroka are taking longer to resolve the issues in order to frustrate Kerr.
“It’s not too long, we suspended him last month, it’s not even a full month he is under suspension,” said Mphahlele.
“We take our time because we want to do a proper thing. If we rush we will make a mistake so we want to do correct things. We don’t want to treat coach (Dylan Kerr) unfairly, we want to give him the proper channels to go and answer all the allegations.
“I wouldn’t say I have agreements or disagreements with him, Dylan Kerr is an employee like any other employee. I have responsibilities as the chairman to fulfill and he has his responsibility to fulfil which are different so it’s not a conflict. He is doing his work and I am doing my work,” added Mphahlele.
Mphahlele declined to comment on what his preferences are with regards to the coach’s future, outside the DC processes.
“I am not sure, I cannot predict because his case is with the disciplinary committee,” he said.
Matsimela Thoka and Thomas ‘ Spaghetti’ Mare have been overseeing the team during the impressive start of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season where the club won their two opening matches.
“They fit in well into the shoes. They have a 100% record, who could have dreamt about that? All coaches dream about that 100% staring record but these two have it. It looks like the boys are responding, respecting them and they are giving the performances,” concluded the Baroka chairman.
Bakgaga will host Golden Arrows on Wednesday at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 19:30.
