Baroka management are working against the clock to ensure that their football Village in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo is ready to host their first official matches.
The club has registered the facility as their home venue for the 2021/22 DStv Diski Challenge season.
The Premier Soccer League inspected the venue earlier this year but raised their concerns over issues such as the match officials dressing rooms.
Club Chairman Khurishi Mphahlele insists they remain confident that the venue will be ready when the League comes back for a second assessment.
“Yes, the Diski Challenge team will play at the village this season,” said Mphahlele.
“I am happy with the progress, we are almost there. We are finalising the referees dressing rooms because that was the only outstanding issue with the PSL when they came here. We thought the referees would use the lodge to change but they said no they must be next to the teams’ dressing rooms.
“So, the building is already done. We are going to call them again (PSL) to come and do a final inspection then there after we will request the change to our venue to be here at the village,” he said.
The DDC will kickstart this weekend with a football festival at Bidvest Wits Stadium. ‘
