It’s a waiting game for Kaizer Chiefs and Stuart Baxter.
Baxter, who was appointed Chiefs head coach almost three weeks ago will continue to watch his troops from the stands as the Soweto giants take on Wydad Casablanca in the Caf Champions League semifinal second leg tie at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening (18:00).
‘The Glamour Boys’ have confirmed that Baxter is still waiting for his work permit before he can officially sit on the bench.
Caretaker-coaches in Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will continue to lead the team.
In the guidance of Zwane and Sheppard, Chiefs beat Casablanca 1-0 away from home in the first leg and will look to seal a place in the Champions League final for the first time ever.
“There is no change‚” said Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa as quoted by TimesLive.
“They [Zwane and Sheppard] have their method – I’m sure that is known by them only.
“But the fact is that whatever and however they are dealing with it‚ it got us a lead from the first leg and hopefully the same will happen in the second leg.
“So we are happy. We are happy with how Arthur is leading the whole thing on the pitch and gelling well with the players.
“It’s working. His instructions look like they are reaching the players,” he concluded.
