‘Bibo’ returns to professional football

Swallows FC have signed midfielder Thandani ‘Bibo’ Ntshumayelo on a 1-year contract.

The news were confirmed by sports broadcaster and television personality Robert Marawa.

After Ntshumayelo’s emotional appearance on Marawa TV in December 2020 where he took ownership of his past mistakes, ‘Bibo’ was immediately offered to train with Maswaiswai by Coach Brandon Truter which lead to a 1-year deal at the club.

In January 2016, he received a four-year ban from football by the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport (SAIDS) after he tested positive for a banned substance following abuse of cocaine.

However, in 2018, he was given the green light by the SAIDS to resume his stalled football career after he successfully appealed and his ban was reduced.

After being given the green light, Ntshumayelo went on to join the Limpopo-based outfit Baroka FC with hopes to resurrect his football career, where he only made one appearance for Bakgaga.

The 31-year-old footballer also had his fair share of play at SuperSport United and the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
