Big win for Amajimbos in COSAFA Cup

South Africa U17 eased past Angola U17
Amajimbos to take a giant leap towards the CAF U17 AFCON by trouncing Angola U17, 2-1.

Goals from the lively Mduduzi Shabalala and Keavino Francis were enough for a comfortable win and go top of the log with 4 points.

The South Africans played the last 10 minutes with 10 men after their reliable centreback Lyema Dopolo, shown his second booking, and ordered to leave the field.

To their credit, Angola U17 played their hearts out after equalizing from a corner kick taken and scored by leftback Jeremias Kossi, but Amajimbos hung on for the precious 3 points.

Amajimbos now wait for the Zambians on the 26th November 2020 to complete the round-robin schedule.

The 2-1 win against Angola takes the hosts to top spot in the group, as mentioned earlier, but a win for Zambia against Zimbabwe later on Tuesday might mean they go back top at the end of match day 2.

There will be no games on Wednesday to give the respective teams time to recover and rest.
