Football Manager at Kaizer Chiefs, Bobby Motaung, feels that Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is “obsessed” with Chiefs.
Speaking to City Press, Motaung was responding to Mosimane’s claims that Chiefs have been “benefitting” from the mistakes of referees, who have either awarded them penalties.
Chiefs, however, have also had penalties against them.
“If the club feels there’s something to respond to, we’ll issue an official statement. But, personally, I think Pitso is obsessed with Chiefs,” Motaung said.
Mosimane caused a stir when he said, “When it’s Chiefs, it’s always a penalty. I must also benefit.”
The 2016 CAF Coach of the Year, however, has rejected Motaung’s view that he’s obsessed with Chiefs.
“Obsessed? What’s new there?” Mosimane asked.
“If you personalise this, then that’s your own problem. I’m not saying that they (Chiefs) are cheating or that referees are helping them.
“They’re benefitting from the mistakes of referees. It might be us (benefitting) tomorrow,” Mosimane added.
