AmaZulu defender Mario Booysen has opened up about his struggles at Kaizer Chiefs during his one season stay.
Booysen was deemed surplus to requirements at Amakhosi at the end of the 2018/19 season.
He made just 14 appearances for the club last season before is contract was terminated prior to the start of the current season.
“You know for me when I came here at first ,you have to make peace with the past and that’s something I did you know to be honest because if you don’t make peace with the past you won’t be able to move forward and I think I made peace that’s why am still playing today because am contributing I want to do well for AmaZulu you know” said the 31-year-old.
“Whatever happened previously in my career I made peace with it I am grateful for the opportunities that other teams gave me to play but I think for now like looking ahead now I am AmaZulu player and I am committed to them because they have shown belief in me and i am happy with that”
The technical staff, everyone has shown belief in me even with the help of the players it hasn’t been difficult to settle in” He said.
The Cape Town born defender has hit the ground running at Usuthu featuring 8 times for the club and helping them keep 4 clean sheets having joined late October on a 2-year contract.
“I think things have been going well but I think I can still do more you know to obviously help individual wise with the team experience wise to help other guys around, it is not just about me it is about the team first”
AmaZulu are currently in 12th position on the log standings with 16 points battling to stir away from the drop and clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturdayat 20:15.
