Kaizer Chiefs have acquired the services of highly-rated defender Austin Dube from GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay.

Dube has put pen to paper on a three-year deal (with a two-year option) with Chiefs following his impressive performances during the last campaign in the colours of the ‘Natal Rich Boyz’.

The 28-year-old was also part of the Bay team that stunned Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash in February and the second-tier league outfit went all the way to the final with Dube marshalling the defence.

Dube will be joining Njabulo Ngcobo, Kgaogelo Sekgota, Sifiso Hlanti, Phathutshedzo Nange, Brendon Peterson, Sibusiso Mabiliso, as Amakhosi’s new players.

Given Thibedi, meanwhile, has returned from a loan spell at Swallows.

The centre-back won the Cosafa Cup with Bafana Bafana at the weekend and made his national team debut in the 1-0 victory over Botswana.
