The Premier Soccer League (PSL) executive committee has resolved to put the League on hold.
“The games tomorrow (March 17) and Wednesday are suspended… the games at the weekend are also suspended.
“The Multichoice Diski Challenge is discontinued,” confirmed PSL Chairman Irvin Khoza during this afternoon’s press briefing at Parktown, Johannesburg.
The matches – Absa Premiership and GladAfrica Championship – are therefore suspended until further notice.
Regarding the possibility of playing behind closed doors, the committee has not taken any decision and will do so after consultations, especially with government.
The PSL will hold a meeting on Thursday to decide on the way forward.
As things stand, gatherings of over 100 people are not allowed, as pronounced by state president, Cyril Ramaphosa.
