Sekhukhune United have emerged victorious in the court case that was critical to which team wins automatic promotion from the GladAfrica Championship to DStv Premiership.
It all started when arbitrator Cassim SC awarded three points to Sekhukhune United from their match against Polokwane City in January 2021.
Polokwane City failed to field the required number of U23 players.
As seen in the picture below, some clubs then challenged the ruling.
In the end, Judge Roland Sutherland dismissed the application to review Cassim SC’s ruling which means Sekhukhune must get their points as per Cassim’s ruling.
Sekhukhune therefore finish the season on 53 points and Royal AM, with 51, will have to contend for a promotion/relegation spot with Richards Bay and Chippa United, who finished 15th in the DStv Premiership.
