Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed signing of Highlands Park duo Peter Shalulile and Mothobi Mvala on five-year deals.
Mvala spent the last six seasons at the ‘Lions of the North’, while Shalulile joined in 2015 and went on to score 49 goals in all competitions.
Namibian international Shalulile who shared the Absa Premiership’s Golden Boot in the 2019-20 campaign with Gabadinho Mhango (16 goals) says he joined the ‘Brazilians’ to win trophies.
“I joined Sundowns because I think it’s one of the best clubs in Africa and I want to win trophies. It’s a platform for me to play in Africa with the CAF Champions League,” said the 27-year-old.
Mvala also shared Shalulile’s sentiments saying he also wants to create great memories at the current League Champions.
“Every season Sundowns competes for trophies, which is something you want as a player, to win something for yourself, for your family, for the supporters, for everyone, I’m looking forward to meeting all the players so that we can share good moments and keep winning.” Said Mvala.
Sundowns are expected to announce more signings in the coming days, with Cape Town City striker Kermit Erasmus reported to be one of those players.
