Owen Da Gama has given an update on the assessment of Kenyan international Brian Mandela Onyango at Highlands Park.
The 25-year-old former Maritzburg United central defender has been training with the Tembisa based side since January, but still hasn’t managed to earn himself a contract.
Onyango is currently a free agent after parting ways with the KwaZulu Natal club at the end of last season.
“We still busy assessing you know because of the rains and so on we couldn’t really play a lot of matches you know, we couldn’t get friendlies,” said Da Gama.
“But now we’ve got one or two friendlies lined up, and we also wanted the boy to fit into the whole system so that he’s got a better chance. Ja no he’s doing very well, “concluded Da Gama.
