Brockie finds new club

Former SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie has joined Australian club, Bentleigh Greens.

Bentleigh Greens is a semi-professional club in the lower Leagues of Australia, but the 33-year-old would be relieved to start playing again in the new year after months of inactivity since leaving South Africa.

Further reporting by Football Australia…

Brockie joins the NPL Victoria outfit after spending the last five years in South Africa, where he represented three different clubs.

The 51-time All White (New Zealand international) is a huge signing for the Greens, bringing a wealth of experience to the squad for the 2021 season.

Brockie is a proven goalscorer at club level, even finishing second in the A-League Golden Boot in 2012/13, despite his club Wellington Phoenix finishing in last place. He scored over 50% of their goals that season.

The NPL Victoria 2021 season is scheduled to begin at the end of February, with Bentleigh Greens facing Eastern Lions in Round 1.
