Bucs doctor Matebula sends his gratitude to SA for staying at home


Orlando Pirates team doctor Ezekiel Matebula   has thanked South Africans for staying at home to reduce the spread of the coronavirus pandemic that has taken many lives.

“Thank you South Africans for heeding the call to stay at home to reduce the spread of covid-19,” said Dr Matebula.

”Remain at home, leave home only for essentials. When you leave home observe social distancing, wash your hands at least 20 seconds after contacting with a surface or people,” he said.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) set up a Task Team last month to look into the impact of the coronavirus and possible scenarios should the season which has been suspended until further notice not continue. This includes whether the champions should be crowned or declare the season null and void.

According to the Department of Health, 68, 874 coronavirus tests have been conducted, 1,934 confirmed positive cases to date, 95 recoveries and 18 deaths.

“When you have flu like symptoms like shortness of breath, fever, coughing and sore throat, contact your doctor or the nearest clinic or you can call the National Health help line which is 0800 029 9999,” added the Pirates doctor..

”Health workers please check to basics, observe inflection control proposals. Working together, we can defeat the spread of coronavirus,” he concluded.
