A ‘confident’ Jadon Sancho scored the only goal of the match on Saturday as Borussia Dortmund ‘fortuitous’ edged Freiburg 1-0 to notch up their 14th victory at Signal Iduna Park this season in all competitions.
With the win over Freiburg, Dortmund closed the gap on second-placed RB Leipzig to one point.
Sancho (19) walked away with the man of the match award. “I’m full of confidence. The fans always support me. I’m so happy to play here and score goals here,” he said.
“Today’s [Saturday’s] weather was typical of London, so I felt right at home. We wasted a few chances again. We have to take some time to analyse that and then make improvements for the game against Gladbach,” said Sancho.
Third-placed Dortmund are now four points adrift of Bundesliga log leaders Bayern Munich while RB Leipzig dropped points at home as they played out to a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern hammered Hoffenheim 6-0 at PreZero Arena on Saturday.
